I hope the next link works, i sent this to Vicky a week or so ago cos i knew she would like it, at that stage it had not been released.. can’t find the original link.. yes i know i am a shocker.. but it is now the front page of the Sampler Life yahoo group Thriller
it is meant to be at European xsttich, but isn’t and Sampler Coves sales website was down when i typed this up so … shrug..
there is a new alphabet up at Stickideen von……  but the page has red x’s on it so i will do that one later… silly red x’s

I just averted a stitching crisis today.. my lovely charts i ordered with my gift voucher from paula arrived and i honestly for 10 minutes or so had convinced myself i could do the full year of quaker odds and evens on one pice of fab just stitching one a month..
never mind january is nearly finished….    its a silly idea.. ISN’T IT??

people worried about beetles head festering.. no worries, been there had that happen i know how to keep an eye on these things.. my old catt Lucy had an amazing punk hiar style at one stage cos of an abscess…
and someone wanted a picture of my muffleupagus… Nicki or Nic??

i wondered yesterday afternoon why beetle hissed at Fudgey and looked really unhappy ..
usually when fudgey grumps at her and tries to bite her she just leaves…
Fudgey is a very norty little bug sometimes.. she really does want to be an only child.. when she thinks she is the only one she is a cuddle bug
when reality hits she turns into a swiping ( in Muffy’s case) or biting ( in beetles case)  bug if she is in the wrong frame of mind.. obviously yesterday she was in the wrong frame of mind big time…
i warned her she would be voted off the island if she wasn’t careful..

truly the main reason we won’t get a kitten is because the universal view from all who know our pets fear fudgey would bite it in the throat…

beetle would snuggle it and mother it, Muffy would hold it down with a paw and lick it to bits whilst wiggling her little stump …
she had her tail docked before being dumped …evil humans… we let her grow long hair over the stump so it is a psuedo tail so other dogs don’t tease her..

anyway that was the news of the weekend.,.. fudgey put a hole in beetles head..

BAD FUDGEY

i have a little picture, it is my first effort from the ornie sal Nicki has running..
cept it isn’t finished in the picture cos it isn’t being saved for christmas, i want to send it to someone right now as a gift and i don’t want to post it finished until they receive it…
it actually has the persons name and a flutterby on the other side,
i have nearly done the finishing i just need to wait for 1 thing to add, hopefully i can post a finished pic next week ( assuming pauly brings the camera home)
it is from AMAP i Give you Five Hearts which Sue gave to me, it is stitched on the luscious Sileavers Porcelain 32ct linen 1×1 with Gloriana Cranberry silk… which ,and i know this is a massive statement, is my fav varigated red… yes i like it more than Dragons Blood!!

Karen from Dragonfly dreams is getting in the stitching chair so i will be able to order it from her as soon as she sorts out the price.. wonder if the chair counts as an ornament!!

a general quiz for you all.. lol..

if you were to stitch an alphabet sampler.. yes AMAP Alphabet 8 lol.. which silk/linen conmbo would you go with??
i am curious i have a list i wonder if anyone has any good ideas i haven’t come up with yet…
Apparently i will get new glasses this week..

 i also have to have an blood test, blech.. one which means i have to fast ,.. double blech… don’t worry i am not dying but my joints attachments ( tendons/ligaments etc)  seem to have given up and my circulation has slowed to a trudge .. i have been to the doctor 4 times and the optometrist twice in 8 days… thats way too much time in town for this little chicken and still three visits to go at least

oh Paula… i will post a pic of the shawl when pauly brings home the camera… it is about 2/3..3/4 finished i needed another ball of wool though so it is on hold until it arrives on wednesday, i also ordered the wool for Pauly’s grandma’s shawl.. the luscious passionfruit …
the next lot ordered will be for me.. at the moment it is a tie between…
the very girly Petals , the intense Cherries and the exotic Kelim
i think today cherries wins, but by the time i order… who knows

2. If you have never stitched Gloriana cranberry ( i know you have Nicki i am pretty sure it was you mentioning it that made me buy some) it is better than dragons blood

the musings of the past 36 hours or so
So Sue gave me AMAP i will give you 5 hearts chart… part of me says THANKS SUE your an angel, the other part says… NOOOOOOOOOOOOO i want to stitch it ….
i have been looking at silks ( gee what a surprise) and am curious to know what others think of when they first look at this chart.. apart from Dragons Blood ( as in the Vikki clayton silk)
She.. Sue also gave me a chunk  of 48 ct silk gauze.. do you know i can not spell that word i ALWAYS have to correct it…
initially as i do my mind turned to HAED.. BUT then i was thinking… why not Kaleidoscope? and i was also thinking.. i know this is way too much thinking to be safe.. she suggest 3 strands of floss tenting.. i am thinking.. hmmm one strand of premium silk?
i am safe there i can’t afford that for a while, but i think it would work…
next lot of thinking… brain started to hurt around now..
eeep ornie SAL what am i doing… so then i blew 2 hours looking at charts and i think i am doing a heart thingy from one of my french magazines… in Dragons Blood.. maybe, or i had a pinky red one in my hand.. can’t remember the name , too lazy to stand up . I do know i will be using porcelain 32 ct linen and doing 1×1 so that is a start..
next lot of thinking.. needed to lay down about now.. my 1 whole metre of antique white PR evenweave linen arrived talk about exciting a whole big chunk  of it… WOW!!! at the same time 5 Houtman charts were released or re released.. bad timing for a girl all stashed up with a WHOLE metre of her favourite 1×1 fabric…

i love closed tree of Life, but the challenge of a band sampler ( don’t have a band sampler in my repertoire) which is 90 x 820 is quite enticing…
THEN i thought.. why not design my own.. but then i ran away and hid in a new thought to banish that evil little one from my brain
that new thought was.. i need to get the wool for the next shawl for pauls grand mothers x 2  as his Nan’s one is nearly done i reckon a nother week of 6 rows a day and i will nearly be there and i want to grt the other one going.. i think i might do one for me too i am loving bramble stitch now i am into it ..

how many starts have i thought about in the last 36 hours.. anyone keeping count, cos when i went and loked at daniell’s Fairy Moon ( mira) just for a moment i had a twinge of sadness overmy lost wip and thought how cool it would be to start her again in silks… and convert her dress to really pale pink or mauve and a stronger pink or mauve shawl…
i talked myself out of that one quick smart.. though i do have the fab….

so… is it any wonder i continuosly forget things?? with all this stuff floating around in my brain i really do spend all my time daydreaming, sigh..

so now i have Curly Tail Rosie in my possession….

WELL!!!!!!!!! she sent me my birthday/xmas pressies… i won’t go into details as you know i annoyingly don’t do that, cept to say there was chocolate, an Amap chart i have been coveting  .. more about that in a future post, another chart, and some gorgeous bits and pieces, including silk gauze.. she wants me to have ANOTHER new start how wicked is that !!

i have wanted a sudberry house box for a few years now.. but livng in australia the whole currency rate thing, etc has been too much of a killer for me . now i have never mentioned this desire so for Sue to “know” i wanted one and for her to stitch me a Purple Genie ( colourstreams silk) AMAP alpha 8  letter J  1×1 and put it in a white Betsy Box is just too awesome not to share..

so thankyou Sue.. ther was much excitement yesterday ( especially when pauly ran away with the chocolates ) and i have already been stroking the box again this morning..( as i was last night too incidentally lol) words can’t explain how special i felt..

sigh…I think Sonya is gone .. two months with out her..its going to be very quiet and i lose one person who prods me occasionally and reminds me i am disappearing into my quiet place again

not going camping… cradle mountain has an out of control bushfire and all the walkers on the overland track had to be airlifted out to a safe hut along the track the pictures showed how much smoke was up there and we realised it was just fool hardy to go up there now it is meant to rain all weekend so hopefully the fire will settle down .

the people at the camp site were happy i think as they have a whole lot of relocted walkers and walkers waiting for the track to re open etc looking for places to camp, so we did not have to forfeit our deposit… which wa sa bonus.. We will still pay Dawn for looking after the muffster even though she obviously won’t be going to stay at her doggy resort ( she thinks it is a resort she loves it there) cos

A) It is peak season and we pay for the first night by default
B) Dawn spoils muffy big time and we want to keep it that way
c) best to keep on side with the only decent bording kennels in the district
So we will try again for the march long weekend .. Cradle is prettier then anyway as the Notta fagus start turning to their luscious oranges and reds as autumn starts to poke out her head…

which do you consider the best choice. .. i had made my choice before i stitched, then when i stitched i changed my mind.. there is a lesson there i am stitching the centre of persanne in a different blue to the border
2 are HDF silks two are gloriana silks and i have the delightful and adorable Vicky and Nic to thank for helping me.. Vicky does nic have email atm so i can thank her.. i am confuzzled about whether she does or not

my family has always called each other trolls ( along with bunyips and mugwumps…don’t ask ) so i cracked up when this is what the randomiser thing came up with
