Stitching Diva

i know i should be stitching models but i had the dreaded head cold/sinus thing again and we all know how much frogging i do when i try and sttich haed or CC with my head exploding, so i stuck to things a bit easier to frog ..

i needed to do a mini sampler for a pen i am filling for pauls mum for her birthday it is called a show off pen and i got mine from Traditional stitches  the insert needed to be 2.5 x 1.75 inches which meant i needed to go small sttiches highish count to get as much detail as possible.. i used bands from a few samplers , but especially my Jane Rees sampler .. so at least i can say now i stitched some of the chart!! i used the new Bright Baneberry silk from HDF… and 32ct parkland linen from silkweaver.. (  I love that colour)

i also did some more of my mary anne sampler i actually did more than the pic shows , but even 1×1 it is too long for the scanner so the final motif which runs horizontally across the bottom , which i started is not shown, i couldn’t be bothered sttiching two pics together sorry

i am trying tomake my head explode working out how to put all the Fantasy alphabet from Selina Fenech ( HAED) into a mega sampler.. a sort of life time project..lol.

i know i want to sttich all the Tiny treasures version, I know i will do the letter part in each one in Black or dark dark purple silk but that is far as i can get.. i need so much fab to fit it all on no matter how i arrange the letters and i am pouting as it means i can’t have a cool hand dyed fab and NO i will not dye some fab myself as i am not buying a metre plus of any fab and then the dyes and then discovering it is a disaster.. and have to buy more fab..

well i spose i should turn the mini sampler into a pen, and get back to haed stitching… and hoping i will get to finish tranq this weekend!!!!!! everyone keep your fingers crossed for me that they release the last five mini pages at once…

well i have been sttiching a lot…
can’t share all the pics yet, but i can share some..
i can’t share my halloween exchange pictures.. but the yay there is the stitching part is done, now comes the construction part.. which i can do but i am so weird.. i begrudge stitching time to construct the things i have already stitched.. which is sort of SILLY… but there you go

I have finished my last regular page of the tranq sampler there are just the litty bitty pages to go.. the ones i am hoping martina releases all at once, which will mean by this time next week i might be finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but paul reckons she will torture us and release one a week … but no picture of that until i have finished

what i can show you is Sugar magnolia after this months sal challenge  and now she has a whole face ie  no cheek gap, and all her neck and decolletage and lovely choker

i do not think i will make it by the end of the year.. i have a lot of hair to do .. we will see i guess
next is my new sampler start..i know i start samplers  alot.. this one is fun so far..
i like the colours.. i am using a D bag from Vikki ( HDF) which is a detritus bag, that you can get sometimes if you order over $20 of silks for $9 i got two in a month.. ( bad bad bad fudgey) and amazingly they were complimentary colours in both.. and i have got a really cool colour combo going .. the detritus is all the miss labled, wrong dye batch etc silks so she sells them off in bags , and you get heaps in a bag
the chart is Mary Anne which i mentioned a few posts back, it is from Colours Down Under the designer is Monasterium , and CDU is the distributor for the designer and she is about to release two more which i have on sort of pre order i like this style of  sampler better than most quaker reproduction  ones i have decided, the exception being beatrix potter which is OOP and selling for over $100 usd on ebay these days Jane Rees of course, smaller quaker inspired samplers is a different story.. like anything from Midnight Stitching , The workbasket etc  i adore

well actually it was more i could not be bothered scanning my stitching, well i spose that just underlines how slack i am!

Next up is Lady In The Meadow QS , my current Haed model i did heaps of her this time and filled in nearly all of my single stitches i had been ignoring..lol

I finish her.. one more page before the end of this last fullsize row, and then hopefully the final row of pages will be released as one .. so MAYBE i am 2 weeks from a finish.. unless martina releases mini pages with like 100 stitches on each one for five weeks.. i hope not though

and then for the week i will be doing my RR piece and Halloween exchange stuff i think…
i am running out of time for the exchange at a rapid rate, i do have one thing done, just not made into anything but it needs a companion
I found a cool italian designer i had seen the work before , but the website i had seen it on had no english whatsoever so i had avoided it, but i found the charts somewhere else
i love how there are trees with hearts , lacey hearts, more trees , hearts, trees .. lol

Renato Parolin  i especially like Harmony  Ti Amo  and C’est La Vie  but i could list many more
something else that has caught my eye this week is from my favourite wool place in australia, The Knittery She has dyed some 4 ply merino/cashmere  in pinks and $5 of every purchase goes to Breast cancer research and it is So pretty.. it screams my name IMO Warm Pinks

and special hugs to Jan who sent me a lovely little owl this week done in backstitch i love him/her  not sure on gender lol

been stitching for a halloween/autumn exchange today so no pictures of that and i have put QS lady in the Meadow back on the Qsnaps.. my pouty miss Lovenotes will be banished to the hanger in the closet again after i scan her ( i WILL scan her)
