i stitched….

yep sat in the camp site avoiding the sun whilst paul played golf and i stitched ..i also traipsed around miles of sand dunes called the Henty Dunes  ( hope the link works) for hours on my little short legs sinking into millions of years of sand.. but mainly i stitched

i used my HDF paua Abalone single strand silk and aquamarine 2437  ( would have preferred the next shade down , but that is what i had) and white 34 ct legacy linen and i stitched a lovely sea themed mini sampler..

then when i finished that i did some more of my I give you five hearts by Amap
( 1×1 on 36 ct magnolia linen using suepurpleous HDF) sorry tis lopsided

not really a lot done on any of them given how long it has been between drinks, i just do not seem to be able to get my act together atm…
first my next pathetic update on Lady in the meadow who is 1×1 on 28 ct jobelan

the colour is a bit strange this time… worried about my scanner…
next up is Sugar magnolia i really did very little of her last week i am ashamed to say about 300-400 stitches if that i did have to unpick 2 sections i had stitched and redo them, one of them three times before i could count accurately  1×1 on 32 ct carol’s garden jobelan from silkweaver

next is my woeful start on Porthole mermaid, i decided to start inthe hardest section.. who know why… mild insanity i think.. or maybe rampant insanity is more accurate
colours are nice, but at this rate i will not see face until 2010! 1×1 on 32 ct jobelan solo from silkweaver

incase you can no figure it out tis her tail on the left hand side not a mutant angel fish ( you KNOW who thought that don’t you)

finally my Mystery sampler page 4 , another exercise in frogging.. frogging 1×1 on 40 ct is not reccomended .. i will be away this next weekend so i will get behind!! oh NO!!!!

I am working on my CC model this week so there will be no pics of stitching other than samplers for a few weeks

i am now fighting with myself to stitch a little heart from another amap chart a special fairy sent me.. A bleu au Couer  and a little secret there is another smaller blue heart inside

my list of amaps grew too not diminshed.. sigh

lots of fairys have been sending me pressies but as usual my thanks have been private as have the gifts..

lest you thought i had wandered off into the mist again…

i have a few pics to share, i made a BOURSE… yep how amazing is that i did finishing skills on something instead of shoving it in a box.. true it was a gift for someone and i thought shoving the unfinished xstitch into her hand might have been a wee tad inappropriate

anyways i turned the sampler i did late last year , the one which ended up being pretty much my own design which was stitched 1×1 on 28 ct jazlyn in hdf Oxblood regular siolk

into this bourse, sorry for the awful pics, paul and i do not do camera stuff well

a stitchers tip.. do not use jazlyn if you want to do a finish which requires sewing.. yet another reason i do not like it and will never use it again is that i frays awfully , i had to pull out my machine and do three step zigzag to hold the seams … paul nearly passed out when he saw me on the machine .. i think he thought i had sold it i use it so rarely, preferring hand sewing

so any future bourse will be done on linen

i know i owe more pics than this… but i just can’t be bothered scanning.. how slack is that

well after about 10 scans i think i have one reasonable picture to share..
first i could not get it even vaguely straight, then fudgey pulled it out as it was scanning ( we have had behavioural issues in the last 5 days whilst paul has been away… norty kitty attention seeking clingy stuff… poor babies)
so then i tried a different dierection , except being me, i scanned the back instead of the front, saved it not realising, closed down the scanner loaded upthe pic to edit it and … aargghhh
so back to the drawing board, then i could not get it lined up again… sigh…
so firstly for a laugh the back of my sampler

and now the front

i will stitch the J, M and B in heartbreak ( the darkest mermaid blue) and the rest in a paler blue

i ordered a new chart today from thistle threads , well that is the designer the shop was a NZ one called the stitchers closet and the owner is a treasure, she is trying to hunt downsome more of the charts for me which are as rare as hens teeth
oh the chart.. Tiny Inspirations  i know at least 2 stitchers who will love that one…

oh and check out Kerry’s new releases for January.. i love the theme release this month and especially like the Caro Covey one .. it is really unique and sad Carved in Stone

i spent 2 days testing colours on fab before making a decision and ultimately completeing page one of the 2008 Mystery quaker ( martina dey)

so my first post of the year is my page 1 completion… shocking picture the fab does not scan well and that makes the blue look off IMO
