Stitching Diva

I was going to participate in the retired artists SAl this weekend, but my silks grabbed me and would not let go!

so below is are the updates on my Serenity Model and my black Doodle cloth, in the next few days i will post my hearts as well.. i just need to finish off the one i am stitching.
you can tell it is football season again i stitched a lot on the weekend!

The new additions to my doodle cloth are foolsgold examplar, ( the orange one in the middle ) Blueberry soup , which someone on the hdf BB asked me to stitch, the unfinished peacock at the bottom is a LE spool forum only colour called Sour cherry soup.. i wish i had ordered a spool of it , someone sent me a bit to test stitch and it is not enough left for a heart on my hearts sampler.. pout.. and the pretty pink/grey shell like bit of a motif at the top is the delicious Huckleberry…

next is serenity and the specs if you have forgotten are Martina dey chart, 1×1 on 35ct Weddigen linen using HDF regular silks conversion

 
i am loving My serenity Model.. and the more i stitch it , the more i can not wait for Janine to get in my Primera chart in .. though i am going nutty deciding what colour to stitch it..

i think i will need 2 spoools of whatever silk if i go a monochrome/variegated
and i thought i wanted to do Blueberry Soup ( the blue heart on my hearts sampler) but i am not so sure now..

I have also fallen in love with this butterfly chart..  Envol Ephemere by the wonderful designer Isa Vautier ( i want about 20 of her charts.. wish they were more readily available ) i have not ordered it yet I AM trying to be good lol.. but i did start and successfully find enough people to get my own variegated pink silk dyed ( you need  5 spoools of a LE colour pordered for vikki to dye it .. bless her)
with this chart in mind so i might have to order it soon lol..the pic is  a simulated what my variegated silk will look like it is from the conch horn pink series and is very girly

so now i know , having the haed blog to do and the Diva blog i am not keeping track of my posts properly..

i am still alive.. just in case some where starting to wonder
i have been stitching.. mind you i also had 4 days off whilst i went camping so i have not stitched that much, below is my Lady in a meadow.. i have stitched , black, 3371, 938, 898, 3031 until i am over dark colours , so i am playing with silks again witha norty new start!!  and moving onto my Sampler model for the rest of the week…

this second picture is of my new start..

it is a Caron Collection chart called My Hearts a design of 30 different hearts in 5 rows of 6 ( i think) , plus there is a blank heart for my own designs if i want..

my aim is to do five extra of my own with my name, the date done, and a few of my own swirly whirlies..

each one a different random hdf regular silk.. it is being stitched on 34 ct white legacy linen …. only cos my 2 pieces of the yummy devonshire cream colour were not wide enough..

the first two to star are Carries passionfruit ( a LE colour not available in skeins yet) and the yummy new Blueberry soup

i spent saturday testing colours on various linens and hating everything..
ever have days like that , when you have more stash than you know what to do with, but nothing seems to go…
in the end i settled ( for now)
on silkweaver violet mist 36 ct linen with nosegay 2115 ( the delicious black purple) 1×1

my problem is I KNOW it will look awesome on the linen vikki dyed in the OMG red colour with black or black iris, but of course i live at the bottom of the world, and i do not have the order yet and it would mean waiting 2 weekends before i could start and i HAD to start lol

so is it working for you guys.. or is it just sooo boringly predictabley me.. purple on purple

A little update on my serenity model..
it does not seem like i did all that much, except that bottom green motif took ages for some reason. i seemed to stitch it very slowly… who knows why…

and the dark purple one i have just started is a bit bigger i think so who knows how long that will take ..lol
a reminder it is 1×1 on 35 ct weddigen linen

i know a few people who read this know about my black doodle cloth , but not all , so i thought given i have nothing to share wip wise i would show you my doodle cloth..
i love the look of silks on black and i have been stitching various silks and mystery spool silks ( if you are a hdf fan you would know what mystery spools are) that i think would look really good on black
and it has grown into a black sampler of broken bits.. bits of motifs and the such like all randomly scattered on the black 30 ct evenweave linen from Passione Riccamo.. (thankyou vicky ).. i am actually starting to wish i had not cut the piece of fab in half and filled the whole thing
my favs so far would be the pastel rainbow, .. first pretty multicoloured broken square motif, and the dragon hoard motif which is the darker multi coloured one above the stunning suepurplous one ( my very fav)
it has been fun so far and i know it will continue to be fun ntil i run out of space..
now i know some of you will go .. OMI God how awful is that  cos it is BRIGHT but i think it is so ugly it is pretty

including the stunning Kat  now if a chart ever screamed paula’s name that is the one.. isn’t he beautiful
i have also long loved Starfish .. there is something strong and intense about her i like

so i went to add the two i really want to my online wishlist , and decided to tidy up my sampler wishlist.. and i added more than i was able to delete AGAIN

a queation.,. does everyone elses wishlists get bigger rather than smaller! i know mine is feral atm… totally out of control.. lol well for starters it takes 4 posts to cover it all

and to finish.. My Mum jumped out ofa plane yesterday… 61 years old with cripling arthritis and a scary bulging disc in her lower back , but the opportunity presented it self so she grabbed it and went for it.. My BIL had bought my sister a jump for her 40th and then decided mum should join her ( he thought he was being smart.. last laugh was on him as it was something she has always dreamed of doing)
and she says it was absolutely awesome and she loved every minute of it..

it is pretty rare for me to make something in a day anymore , given my predeliction for
1×1 stitching of big charts on 30 plus count fabs, but i was motivated enough the other day to make my purr-fect bookmark kit up from The Cats Whiskers/DinkyDyes as i wanted a gift for a friend.. a non stitchy friend for a change….
i will apologise in advance for the pictures. I have no idea what Paul was thinking, he took them after i went to take muffy for a walk, he then sent them to me from work. I asked him WHY he did not open the curtain instead of taking them in a poorly lit area of the lounge, i had set it up on the table by the window for a reason… sigh
when i asked he said, oh, didn’t think of that… double sigh

it was meant to be stitched 2×2 on 32 ct linen and i did 1×1 on 34 ct cream legacy linen ( my very fav linen this one) so it is tiny, but i like that .. lol and THIS time i used the LE  Silk provided by Dinky Dyes, i had forgotten how nicely DD’s stitch up… just wish they had a bit more sheen…
i will be sending it off to her today..
so… the sad dark dingey pics…

oh and lookout stitchy friends.. i have lots of skeins of HDF just purrrfect for this chart….
